Real Estate Market Update for June 2019
What’s New in San Francisco Real Estate
June 2019
Monthly analytics and charts from Compass
A high-demand/low-inventory spring market brings median home sales prices bouncing back to 2018 peaks.
As illustrated in the San Francisco Median Sales Price Appreciation chart below, both houses and condos are basically back up to the peak prices they hit last year at this time. The chart uses three-month rolling median sales prices. These prices are generally more reliable than single month figures, which are prone to less meaningful fluctuations.
June sales will mostly reflect accepted-offer activity in May, so it will be interesting to see how the last spring data looks from June sales. Next month’s real estate market update will reflect those numbers. After that, market activity typically begins to significantly slow for the summer, hitting its mid-year low in August.
